Continue the learning through application, reflection and a continuing connection with the questions that matter to your work.
Carry the learning into practice
The period after a learning experience is when new methods meet real constraints. Returning to an assignment, testing a framework on a different problem or discussing an assumption with colleagues can reveal what has become part of your practice and what still needs work.
Keep a short record of the decisions in which you use the learning. Capture the context, the method chosen, the reasoning and the result. Over time, this creates a more useful account of development than a list of topics studied.
Turn experience into a useful contribution
A practical experience can become a case question, a reflection on a method or a suggestion for further research. The most useful contributions explain the original problem, the alternatives considered and the lesson that may apply beyond one situation.
When proposing a case or discussion, describe the learning value without including confidential organizational or personal information. Any further use of material, attribution or participation arrangements can be agreed for the specific contribution. The Institute's learning and collaboration page provides a starting point.
Stay connected to relevant learning
Explore Academy resources for a practical reading and reflection approach, or review the learning areas when your responsibilities change. A new role may call for a different depth of analytical, strategic or leadership capability.
For alumni enquiries, continued learning or a proposed contribution, contact the Academy. Mention the relevant program or learning engagement and the question you would like to discuss, so that the team can understand the context of your request.
